On a day that finally offers hope for peace in Northern Ireland, a teenager working at a Belfast cinema finds that not everyone is so optimistic about an end to the violence.

Dawn Watson was born in Belfast and is a poet and writer. She is currently a Lecturer in Creative Writing at Queen’s University, Belfast. Dawn’s debut collection We Play Here was a Guardian Poetry Book of the Year 2023 and was shortlisted for the John Pollard International Poetry Prize for an outstanding debut collection. Dawn’s work has been broadcast on ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 4, ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 3, and ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Ulster, and has appeared in leading literary journals including The Poetry Review and Granta.
