That's why scientists across Wales are actively exploring the impact of depression on individuals, helping us better understand the condition and develop more effective treatments.
Co-Director of the Wolfson Centre for Young People鈥檚 Mental Health, Professor Frances Rice, tells us about the centre in Cardiff and its dedication to understanding anxiety and depression in young people.
We hear from Ricki Takooree, who, at 18, was diagnosed with depression and who hopes that by sharing his story, he can help others feel safe and confident enough to reach out and access the support they need.
