County Antrim 4
Roo Irvine steps aboard the 'little sister' of the Titanic, while two teams hunt for antiques in County Antrim with experts Caroline Hawley and Thomas Forrester.
Roo Irvine is on a voyage of discovery in Belfast, where she goes on board the SS Nomadic, the ‘little sister’ of the Titanic. The Nomadic was built more than 100 years ago as a tender ship, transporting passengers from the dockside to board White Star Line’s ocean-going liners. Her early years were spent in Cherbourg before she served as a troop carrier during World War II.
At a busy antiques fair in County Antrim, things are looking shipshape for the teams. On the red team, Caroline Hawley guides married couple Raymond and Linda, and Thomas Forrester skippers husband and wife David and Ruth. Raymond has a soft spot for a fox figurine, while Ruth has a wobble over a copper jelly mould.
Then it’s off to the auction in Belfast, where auctioneer Jonathan Esdale gives his opinion on the teams’ lots. Will it be the reds or the blues who come out on top?
