Nelly Furtado begins her 10-song musical journey in this weeks omnibus edition of Tracks Of My Years.
Nelly Furtado’s songs have influenced a whole generation of music lovers. Her debut album, ‘Whoa, Nelly!’, came out in 2000 and brought us the Grammy-winning song ‘I'm Like a Bird’ and ‘Turn Off the Light’. Her collaborations with producer Timbaland on songs like 'Maneater' are still club anthems today.
After years away from the industry to raise her children, Nelly Furtado has a new album coming out called ‘7’. It’s taken four years to make, during which time she wrote 400 songs and collaborated with artists from around the world.
Nelly’s sold over 35 million albums, enjoyed over 20 billion streams and is one of the most successful Canadian artists ever. Music was everywhere in her family home in Victoria, and that’s led her to her first choice, ‘Sometimes a Fantasy’ by Billy Joel.
