Andrew McGregor with pianist Lucy Parham introduce performances from the semi-final stage of one of the most prestigious of all music competitions - The Leeds - held this week at the Great Hall, Leeds University. Attracting some of finest young pianists from across the globe the competition has now whittled the competitors down to just ten, each of whom is hoping to make it through to the final five for the concerto finals which culminate tomorrow evening. In the semi-final stage each pianist will present a varied programme of music which includes classic works from the pianist's repertory, contemporary music, plus chamber music for which they join forces with members of the Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective.
