Niamh O'Sullivan and Gary Beecher live from Wigmore Hall and highlights from the Utrecht Early Music Festival

A showcase of the best performances from the UK and beyond, including music from the recent Spanish-themed Utrecht Early Music Festival and song from London's Wigmore Hall.

Today's Classical Live begins with a recital from London鈥檚 Wigmore Hall featuring current 大象传媒 Radio 3 New Generation Artist, the Irish mezzo soprano Niamh O'Sullivan and pianist Gary Beecher. They will perform a programme with an avian theme including music by Wolf, Brahms, Korngold and Stravinsky. Niamh O'Sullivan recently sang Wellgunde in Barrie Kosky鈥檚 new production of鈥疍as Rheingold鈥痑t the Royal Opera House and will make her role debut as Carmen at the 2024 Buxton Festival.鈥�

Also in today's programme, specially recorded performances from this year's Utrecht Early Music Festival. M煤sica Temprana and Capella Gregoriana join forces under the direction of Adri谩n Rodriguez Van der Spoel to perform music by Spanish composers.

And Tom McKinney also introduces a complete performance from the quarter finalists of the current 大象传媒 Young Musician Competition.
