In Grand Jipangu, an Edo Period-like alternate universe, a mikoshi race is about to take place, the winner of which gets to make a wish to the holy treasure of the Grand Shrine and receives a million berries in prize money. Chief Luffy and his friends recruit Franky to build them a mikoshi, and around the same time, they meet Brook, who cannot remember anything other than his own name. Meanwhile, Thriller Company begins sabotaging its competitors. When Luffy and the others arrive at Franky鈥檚 workshop on the night before the race, they find their mikoshi destroyed, and Brook remembers that he was once part of Thriller Company before being drowned by Hogback, Perona and Absalom.聽
