Pino Palladino is a Welsh bassist, songwriter and producer who over his 40+ year career has performed and recorded with a extensive list of legendary musicians and bands - including The Who, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Gary Numan, Jeff Beck, Nine Inch Nails, Beyonce, Paul Young, Joan Armatrading, Adele and Carly Simon to name just a few. His credits total more than 600 and counting! He also released his first solo album, Notes With Attachments, in 2021.

Fabiana Palladino, Pino's daughter, is an acclaimed musician who released her self-titled debut album in April to critical acclaim. The Guardian described it as "sublime 80s pop innovation meets 21st-century chaos" in a five-star review. The record has been a long-time coming, as Fabiana began self-releasing music online thirteen years ago. Alongside a slow release of singles in that time she collaborated with the likes of The Maccabees, Jessie Ware and Sampha, as well as Jai Paul - who's label she eventually released the album through.

As well as this, Huw gets under the hood of how the songs we love are made in another edition of 6 Musicology, this time with academic and songwriter Anjali Perin. Today, we're looking at music in lesser-known languages.
