Inventing the Microwave, Shakespeare and The Coleraine Chronicle.

Celebrating the Antrim man who invented the Microwave, an Ulster-Scots take on Shakespeare’s Sonnets and an exhibition for The Coleraine Chronicle.

Helen Mark presents ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Ulster’s weekly Ulster-Scots magazine show alongside Rab Lennox and Willie Hill, with a contribution this week from Jane Rea.

This week, Helen headed to Coleraine Town Hall for an exhibition celebrating The Coleraine Chronicle’s 180th anniversary, in the company of former employee and friend of Kintra, John Watt.

Meanwhile, Jane visits 92 year old Rev Robert Hanna to chat about a Blue Plaque for James Sayers – an Antrim man with a remarkable legacy – that he played a crucial role in inventing the microwave oven is only part of it!

Ballymena writer Phillip Taylor joins the team to talk about his project translating all 154 of Shakespeare’s sonnets and Rab catches up with the now multi award winning highland dance teacher Kathryn Stewart!

As always, listeners are invited to contact the programme with a good Ulster-Scots yarn or event to talk about. The easiest way to do that is by email - kintra@bbc.co.uk.
