Fifty years after the end of the Vietnam War, Vietnamese-American author William Lee Adams completes his emotional journey through Vietnam.

Starting in the northern part of the country, he explores how tourism is now helping to drive the economy of this communist country before heading to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) to meet a fellow author who gives voice to the hidden trauma of survivors of the Vietnam War.

After reconnecting with his relatives, he finally lays the ashes of his late brother to rest in the city where he was born at the height of the conflict.
