Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie present a feast of great music and chat for weekend breakfast and celebrate the 70th anniversary of Godzilla.

The legendary monster debuted on Japanese cinema screens in 1954. It received mixed reviews on release but was a box-office success, making it the eighth highest-grossing Japanese film of that year. It also won a Japanese Movie Association Award for Best Special Effects.

In 1956, an Americanised version, titled Godzilla, King of the Monsters!, was released in the United States. A multimedia franchise followed that has since been recognised as the longest-running in history.
