Meanwhile, Luffy, Robin, Zoro, Usopp, and Brook make Brownbeard guide them to the research institute. Inside the building, the gaseous entity who people call Master learns about the Straw Hats' identity from a harpy named Monet. Smoker and Law's battle gets heated, and they both demand to know what the other is plotting. In the end, Law uses his Devil Fruit power to poke Smoker's heart out of his chest, and Smoker collapses on the snowy ground.
