Caesar is furious that his prisoners escaped and are inside the building. He orders the corridor between Building A and Building B be closed off and the wall of Building A be bombed to let poisonous gas Shinokuni inside. Luffy, Smoker, and Law make it past the gate first. Brownbeard and the rest of the Straw Hats also make it through. Tashigi orders her men to run through the gate while she stays behind to make sure everybody makes it. To Tashigi's great horror, some Marines lift her up and toss her through the closing gate, sacrificing themselves to the poisonous gas. Tashigi is moved to tears by their valor. Caesar sees the survivors that passed the gate and promises that he will not let anybody get away alive.
