Nordic Music Days: Lawrence Power and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra
A celebration of music old and new from Scotland and Nordic countries: Jay Capperauld’s Death in a Nutshell, Flow by Madeleine Isaksson and James MacMillan’s Symphony No 2.
As part of Nordic Music Days festival held in Scotland for the first time in 136 years, the internationally acclaimed violist Lawrence Power joins the SCO and Principal Guest conductor Andrew Manze for Anders Hillborg’s astounding Viola Concerto. Jay Capperauld sketches six crime scenes in his darkly inspired work, while Madeleine Isaksson’s Flow traces rivers in northern Sweden.
