Caesar, who had been working on the giantification drug for Big Mom, was approached by Bege, now a trusted subordinate of Big Mom, to create the KX Launcher to assassinate the Emperor. Before Luffy agrees to form an alliance, he demands to punch Bege for shooting Pekams. Jimbei stops Luffy and convinces everybody that they are already allies through their shared hatred toward Big Mom. Then Bege explains his strategy for the assassination. In order to make Big Mom vulnerable to the KX Launcher, they must break the photograph of Mother Carmel. Bege entrusts the dangerous job to Luffy, which Luffy readily accepts.
