Luffy fights Katakuri while Jimbei and Nami make it onto the Sunny. Nami prepares the ship for Coup de Burst, but Perospero traps it in candy, rendering it immobile. Meanwhile, Big Mom is closing in on them from the land, and the Tarte ships arrive from sea all the while Brook and Chopper are unable to breathe in Perospero鈥檚 Candy Man. As Pedro watches Luffy take on Katakuri, he recalls his childhood when Pirate King Roger arrived on Zou. The young Pedro begged him to let him join his ship, but Roger told him to wait for his time. Pedro decides that it is now indeed his time. After he tells Carrot to get onboard the Sunny, he attacks Perospero. Perospero, who overpowers Pedro, also recalls the past when he asked the Mink what 鈥淣ox鈥� meant. Pedro had responded that it meant night and that there is no night that is not followed by a dawn. Believing that the Straw Hats are the ones to lead the world to a new dawn, Pedro ignites the dynamite sticks under his coat to create their escape, taking Perospero with him to their deaths.
