Radio 2 Piano Room - Mabel
Pop sensation Mabel - performing with The 大象传媒 Concert Orchestra - sees out The Radio 2 Piano Room 2024 in style. Plus another trip to Vernon's Vault and Ten To The Top.
BRIT Award-winning pop sensation Mabel performs alongside the 大象传媒 Concert Orchestra at 大象传媒 Maida Vale, bringing the curtain down on The Radio 2 Piano Room 2024.
Mabel was born in the mountains of Malaga, Spain, and first burst on to the music scene in 2015 with her debut single 'Know Me Better'. Her early material led to the surprise breakthrough of 'Finders Keepers' in 2017, which went platinum, spending five weeks in the top ten and seeing her nominated for the Critics' Choice Award at the BRITs.
She's gone on to tour with stars such as Harry Styles, selling out her own dates around the world including playing at Wembley to a packed stadium. Mabel is famously the daughter of producer Cameron McVey, best known for his seminal work with Massive Attack, Portishead, Sugababes and All Saints, while Mabel's mother is Neneh Cherry, the cross-generational music and style superstar who enjoyed chart success in the late eighties and early nineties with hits such as 'Buffalo Stance' and 'Manchild'.
In 2019, Mabel achieved her biggest hit single to date with 鈥楧on鈥檛 Call Me Up鈥, co-written by Steve Mac - whose other hits include Ed Sheeran鈥檚 鈥楽hape Of You鈥 and Years & Years鈥 鈥業f You鈥檙e Over Me鈥. In 2020, she was crowned Best British Female Solo Artist at the Brit Awards, and after 18 months away from music, she made a triumphant return with the singles Vitamins, Chat and Female Intuition.
