O-Tama is sick from drinking contaminated river water. Luffy decides to take her to a doctor and gets directions from Hitetsu, who for some reason cannot go to town. Luffy sees a sword on the wall and borrows it without Hitetsu鈥檚 permission. Hitetsu tries to stop him and explains that it is the cursed Nidai Kitetsu forged by his ancestor, Kotetsu. Luffy takes it anyway and starts traveling across the wasteland with Komachiyo and the ailing O-Tama. Luffy sees many animals roaming in the wasteland and wonders why O-Tama and Hitetsu have nothing to eat. O-Tama explains that the meat of the animals roaming in the wasteland are poisonous to humans since they drink the polluted river water. Then Luffy sees Zoro in the distance. As they revel in their reunion, Basil Hawkins shows up with his men.
