Commemorating the 20th anniversary of One Piece, a special episode about another Luffy. As Luffy travels across the sea on his small boat, a strange bird gets shot down from the sky. A large pirate ship approaches him, and its captain, Spiel the Hexagon, asks Luffy to bring the bird onboard. On the ship, the bird named Balloon is locked in a cage, and Luffy meets Ann, Balloon鈥檚 owner and best friend. Ann tries to free Balloon, but she and Luffy are locked up in a cell. Luffy reminisces about his grandpa, who inspired him to become a pirate and gave him the straw hat. Luffy and Ann escape from the cell, but Spiel flies away, taking Balloon with him. Spiel deserts his crew and destroys his ship. Ann saves Luffy from drowning, and Luffy saves Balloon from Spiel.
