Wham! legend Andrew Ridgeley picks the songs that soundtracked his life in this week's Tracks Of My Years. Plus there’s more clips from the Vault
Wham! legend Andrew Ridgeley chooses his Tracks Of My Years all this week.
As part of Wham!, Andrew and childhood friend George Michael soundtracked the early 80s and sold over 30 million records worldwide between 1982 and 1986.
‘Last Christmas’ - one of their biggest hits - was held off the top spot in 1984 by Band Aid’s ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’, and actually only got to Christmas number one last year. Now the story of the song is being explored in a ´óÏó´«Ã½ Two programme called ‘WHAM!: Last Christmas Unwrapped’. There’s also a commemorative EP of the classic song out in December to celebrate its 40th anniversary.
After Wham! Andrew’s career took many turns, from professional racing car driver to acting and his own solo music. Hear him talk about that and much more as he picks his penultimate two choices today.
