Norman Lebrecht chats to the internationally renowned Welsh bass-baritone, Sir Bryn Terfel about his life, music, heritage and home.

Born in1965 in Caernarfonshire to a musical farming family, Sir Bryn was first taught how to sing by a family friend (starting off with traditional Welsh songs). He trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and by the early 1990s he was already established in a professional singing career.
