Radio 3 across Europe: Schumann鈥檚 Violin Concerto in Budapest

Linton Stephens showcases the best performances from the UK and beyond, including Renaud Capu莽on playing Schumann鈥檚 Violin Concerto in Budapest.

Linton Stephens showcases the best performances by 大象传媒 orchestras, choirs, ensembles and other great performing groups from Europe and around the globe.

As part of Radio 3鈥檚 travel鈥檚 across Europe this week, today we focus on Budapest, with recordings made there by the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. In our 3pm centrepiece, the orchestra is joined by violinist Renaud Capu莽on for Robert Schumann鈥檚 Violin Concerto; before that they perform a Sinfonia by the Baroque composer Christoph Graupner. And for the last time this week, there鈥檚 music recorded at this year鈥檚 Edinburgh International Festival, with more Ravel from pianist Seong-Jin Cho and the Kleio Quartet playing Haydn.
