Brahms violin concerto from Paris

Julia Fischer joins the French National Orchestra and conductor Cristian M膬celaru to perform Brahms' Violin concerto.

Ian Skelly continues Radio 3's European Road Trip of broadcasting from Paris with a very special concert, recorded in September last year at L'Auditorium de Radio France in Paris, in which violinist Julia Fischer joined the French National Orchestra and conductor Cristian M膬celaru to perform Brahms' violin concerto - a work originally deemed unplayable before the composer revised the work for its original recipient: Joseph Joachim. There's music, too, by Debussy and Elsa Barraine.
