The Talking Movies team look back at some of their personal highlights in cinema in 2024. From Korea to France to Los Angeles, the team have travelled around the globe to explore world cinema and celebrate the cultural legacy of film-making.

Presenter Tom Brook underwent a deeply personal journey to Auschwitz to cover the Polish premiere of British film-maker Jonathan Glazer's holocaust drama The Zone of Interest. The film would go on to win two Oscars at the Academy Awards.

The year also proved notable for Lily Gladstone as she became the first Native American woman to be nominated in the Best Actress category. In a wide-ranging interview, we talked to her about diversity, inclusion and her role in the Martin Scorsese epic Killers of the Flower Moon.

The big winner at 2024's Academy Awards was the historical drama Oppenheimer, directed by Christopher Nolan. Reporter Alan Moloney sat down with Nolan to discuss the film as well as his unique approach to making intelligent blockbusters.

Reporter Emma Jones reported from the Venice Film Festival, exploring Pedro Almodovar's first film in the English language, The Room Next Door, with the director himself. She also talked to the cast of one of the year's biggest films - the highly anticipated Gladiator II.

All this plus the best dogs at the Cannes Film Festival and films to look forward to in 2025.
