Living legends and unsung heroes, picked all this week by the UK saxophonist.

'Round Midnight is presented by award-winning saxophonist Soweto Kinch. This weekday late-night show celebrates the thriving UK jazz scene and spotlights the best new music alongside incredible heritage acts.

Fellow Birmingham resident Xhosa Cole is Soweto's guest this week. Xhosa鈥檚 newly released album 鈥淎 Modern Genius (Vol.1)鈥� is devoted to the life and personality of Thelonious Monk and marks another explorative chapter in Xhosa鈥檚 musical journey. From Monday to Thursday, Xhosa is highlighting some of the fellow musicians that have influenced him, in a section of the show called Flowers.

Xhosa鈥檚 first bouquet goes to UK pianist, composer and educator Julian Joseph.

Plus, there's music from Jaimie Branch, Audrey Powne and Matt Carmichael.
