Guitarist, mandolin player and singer Calum McIlroy has had an incredible year as reigning champion of the 大象传媒 Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year competition. Hailing from Aberdeenshire, he joins Anna in session in the Bistro of 大象传媒 Aberdeen with the wonderful James Lindsay on double bass. Calum talks Anna through the opportunities he's had in his year of holding the title, ahead of the 2025 final in a few weeks.
