Kathryn Tickell celebrates St. David鈥檚 Day with a selection of three tracks showcasing Wales鈥 national instrument, the triple harp - or 'telyn deires' - handpicked by fiddle player and composer, Angharad Jenkins. Since its arrival in the British Isles in the Seventeenth Century, the triple harp has been adopted and nurtured as a Welsh instrument and today represents an unbroken folk tradition going back over three hundred years.
Elsewhere in the show, Kurdish folk music written and recorded by Mohammad Mostafa Heydarian, a young tanbur player from western Iran, and a track from an upcoming album of acoustic songs from Malian songwriter, Salif Keita.
