South Korea's Adoption Shame
Yalda Hakim has been to Seoul to investigate why South Koreans are so reluctant to bring up someone else's child.
South Korea is a country with no tradition of adoption - where there's a stigma if families do adopt. In the past most unwanted babies were adopted overseas - but recently the law has changed, restricting international adoption. And that's lead to an unwanted side effect - hundreds of babies being abandoned and ending up in orphanages. Yalda Hakim has been to Seoul to investigate why South Koreans are so reluctant to bring up someone else's child.
