From the British Library in central London, Tanya Beckett introduces us to five more accounts of history through the eyes of people who were there. This month, it is 45 years since tens of thousands of women took over the centre of New York in a march to demand equal rights. The protest was a high point for the American feminist movement. Witness has spoken to Carole de Saram who was there and who went on to become a lifelong campaigner for women's rights.
