Goodbye Solo
Every so often, in cinema, a fresh and intriguing new voice can be heard. And the latest belongs to the Iranian-American film-maker, Ramin Bahrani, whose "Goodbye Solo" is being hailed by critics as a masterpiece. Set in small-town North Carolina, the film brings-together a young Senegalese taxi-driver, Solo, and a crumpled, suicidal old-biker called William, whom Solo yearns to protect. Entertainment Weekly's Owen Gleiberman reviews the film.
