Algeria looks to the Future
Original investigations and reports from 大象传媒 correspondents.
Nearly 200,000 people were killed in clashes between Islamist extremists and the state during the devastating civil war of the 1990s. Both sides committed terrible human rights abuses. Now Algeria鈥檚 newly elected government says the country is booming.
In this 大象传媒 Assignment programme, James Copnall travels across Algeria to find out if that is really the case, or if once again dangerous frustrations are building up. He visits the scene of one of the bloodiest massacres of the civil war, and travels to one of the areas close to where Islamist militants still operate.
