During the First World War half a million men were killed in the fields around the small medieaval town of Ypres in northern Belgium. Chris Moore reports from there for Assignment.
During the First World War half a million men were killed in the fields around the small medieaval town of Ypres in northern Belgium. Ypres is the site of one of the most famous memorials built to commemorate the dead and the missing, the Menin Gate. Now as, Chris Moore reports in Assignment, this town has to confront its terrible past each and every day.
