Kenyan political puppet show
Kenyan politics are now providing the punchlines for a new TV puppet show. The first of its kind in Africa, the XYZ Show began airing this month on Citizen TV and introduces Kenyans to a new form of satire with life-size puppets made to resemble famous persons.
In a country where journalists find it difficult to practice their profession without interference, the show's willingness to challenge and poke fun at the political elite has been seen as a milestone in the history of the country's media.
