The US and Darfur

When he was campaigning for the presidency Barack Obama had some strong words for the Sudanese government over the issue of Darfur. But will he follow through?

The Obama administration is still finalizing its policy towards Darfur. But activists fear that president Barack Obama will not be as tough on Sudan as he indicated during his campaign. The conflict in Darfur started in 2003 when a rebellion led to government-backed militias and rebel groups killing hundreds of thousands of civilians and driving millions more from their homes. Kim Ghattas reports on the debate in Washington
