Ice hideout
As the sea ice of Antarctica begins to melt in the summer, animals move in to feed. Resting on an ice floe, crabeater seals are safe. It's only when they enter the water that they need to be on their guard - for good reason. Killer whales in this area have developed a taste for these seals and specialise in hunting them. A lone seal swimming in open water is unaware that he's in real danger from a group of killer whales. Spotting them at last, he attempts to hide behind a small piece of ice - but he's soon found out. Agility is the seal's only weapon and he dodges the orcas staying close to the ice berg. The whales tighten the circle, and go in for the kill... but hunters don't always get their own way. In the end, the seal's determination and skill keeps him just out of reach.
