Much of Brazil's energy is from renewable sources like hydro-electric schemes or sugar-cane that gets processed inhto ethanol that cars can use for fuel. The Brazilian government says that 44 per cent of the country's energy comes from renewable sources compared with 14 per cent as the world average.
