Global force
All insects have the same basic design: six legs, and an armoured body. But the different parts can become exaggerated to solve particular problems. Giraffe weevils have extra long necks in order to fight. Praying mantises can be disgusied as flowers, or dead leaves so they can lie in wait for unsuspecting prey. The hard shell can be highly coloured for camouflage or communication. Yet is the ability to transform their armour into wings which has enabled insects to invade almost every habitat on earth.
