In World Drama this week, you can hear the second part of the first ever dramatisation of the Man Booker prize-winning novel, 鈥淭he Inheritance of Loss鈥 by Kiran Desai, dramatised for radio by Rukhsana Ahmad. Set high in the Himalayas, it is the story of a young orphaned girl Sai, and her burgeoning love for her young tutor, Gyan.
Starring Ayesha Dharker (The Terrorist; Bombay Talkie), Vincent Ebrahim (The Kumars at No 42) and Paul Bhattacharjee (Dirty Pretty Things), in this episode opposition increases from her grandfather and Gyan becomes increasingly drawn to the rising political party, the GNLF. Can Sai hold on to her dreams?
