The Story of Slapstick charts the history of the world's most popular comedy genre. Whether you're three or fifty three we all seem to love physical humour. It doesn't matter if they're slapped, banged or walloped, there's a simple glee in the misfortune of others. In this clip the earliest example of slapstick on film is revealed. In 1895 the Lumi猫re brothers from France projected this short film to an audience in a Parisian caf茅 in what was the first ever screening of moving pictures. At that moment, modern Slapstick was born.
