Urban living
The burrowing owl would normally be found living in the prairies, however, in Silicon Valley the urban environment has grown up around them and they've been forced to adapt to a new way of life. Using old pipes as a nest, instead of prairie dog burrows, they can raise between 1 and 12 chicks in a summer season.
