Quite a political show this morning -
Jim wondered whether you'd be more or less likely to vote for a politician you were in touch with on Facebook or Twitter. And this became a hot news topic as the Labour MP for Telford, David Wright apologised for appearing to call Tories 'scum-sucking pigs' on his Twitter page. Mr Wright says it's important for politicians to engage with people, and points out he's the only Shropshire MP using Twitter. But could a politician win or lose your vote, by their use of social networking?
Bridie Sedgebeer (MYP) and Hannah Davies (deputy MYP) might be too young to vote but as members of the Youth Parliament are not too young to have passionate ideas about issues that they know affect people their age. Jim chatted to them about education, relationships and whether they see themselves taking up a career in politics.
But today is not just Tuesday. One minute politics, the next we are bombarded with delish pancake recipes from the sublime to … actually don’t think we moved from the sublime do you? Pancake Alexander (Kahlua, double cream, flake and brandy)!
Jim will be on a bench in Whitchurch this afternoon – catch up with his conversations on Friday morning.
