It's at night, when they are visible only by starlight, that the elephants are at their most sociable - and most vocal. Infra-red capable cameras show huge reunions out in the open places, and this is when these animals are in the greatest danger. Every year, a tenth of the elephants at Dzanga Bai are taken by poachers.
