Recent storms have devastated the local weaver bird colony, knocking the nests and eggs to the ground and the Banded Brothers are tucking in. This bumper harvest is a rare treat for the mongoose family, but they don't get the feast all to themselves. Pied crows also have a taste for the weaver bird eggs, but they would also happily take the mongoose pups as a side order. Howver, the pups have other ideas and are quite prepared to fight back. All the practise against less threatening predators and play amongst themselves helps them build their strength as they approach independence and prepare for the bigger battles ahead.
