Stars, Iceland … are we talking Bjork today – or reclaiming our beautiful dark skies?

Jim is talking about pollution this morning … but today it’s skies awash with unnecessary light. Are you happy to see your street well-lit or love your dark skies with stars like Swarovski crystals?

This morning Jim chats to Andy Boddington of the Campaign to Protect Rural England, Shropshire. He’s passionate about dark skies and wants to see Shropshire Hills become a "Starlight Sanctuary”. When he heard Dave – a listener who lives far from the nearest artificial light – describing his life, he was tempted to move in!

Need a little help? There are many organisations in Shropshire to turn to but they’re not always in the same place and at the same time. As Jim discovers when chatting to Daphne from the Preventative Services Team, Community Council, that’s the point of the Wise and Well Market Place to be held at the Darwin Shopping Centre, Shrewsbury (Friday 16th April 10.00am – 3.0pm). An exhibition representing many groups all ready to answer your questions.
