Honda sign Joey as their works driver which means he had to leave Northern Ireland and be based at the English short circuits. Mechanics now maintain his bikes rather than Joey doing the spanner work himself. It isn鈥檛 a happy period for Joey and so Honda change the plan for his second season, allowing him to go home with some bikes of his own to work on. The only proviso is that his F1 bike (a full development machine) must be kept in the Honda garage and maintained by their mechanics.
