England芒聙聶s World Cup bid damaged?

A teenage Jehovah芒聙聶s Witness from Smethwick declined possible life-saving treatment following an ultimately fatal accident - but perhaps other religions芒聙聶 rules affect health?

In Mid Morning today Jim hears the moving stories of three people whose families have all included a child with Down芒聙聶s syndrome.

Chloe, only 21 when she gave birth to baby James, was not ready to hear her doctor芒聙聶s news that there might be a problem.

But she and her partner have received enormous support from the professionals and they are very positive.

Sarah Sheppard, a mother of a Down芒聙聶s syndrome child herself, is also the chair of the Shropshire Down's Syndrome Group 芒聙聯 a group of families who have a child, teenager or young adult with Down's syndrome.

The group organises regular events and outings as a way of getting together and having fun, with a chance to catch up with friends, both old and new.
