T-Bone Walker special

Late night big band, jazz, irresistible sounds, and for one week only, a tribute to T-Bone Walker.

A note from Paul...

After Artie Shaw's centenary last week, here's another one to celebrate: Aaron Thibeaux Walker, better known T-Bone Walker, singer and guitarist. He was one of the most influential architects of R&B, and had a profound effect on the styles of such as B.B.King and Chuck Berry.

Treats in store for Saturday include "Stormy Monday Blues", "Goin' to funky town" and "She's the most unsleepingest woman" (dig that grammar, boys and girls).

Also on the bill is a tribute to Hank Jones, pianist who accompanied among others, Ella Fitzgerald, and was a fine piano-player in his own right. He died a few days ago, aged 92.

Tune in. Go on, you know it makes sense.

Pip, pip...
