Yew forest
This is a very special place: a natural forest of yew trees. Now we all know yew trees of course, they grow in church yards don't they? Well not really. They don't grow there naturally - they were put there. Because yew trees have always had this sacred connotation which goes back yonks. But this is one of only three yew tree forests in Europe. Very few flowers grow here. Just very, very thick silent moss and it's as if it's suppressing all the life, maybe that's the connection with death. Listen. Nothing - just the odd creak of a tree... if it is a tree. A place where no birds sing.
