Spring greens
You can see up through the trees there are masses of squirrels nibbling on buds and fresh spring leaves. You wouldn鈥檛 get those shapes visible up on the branches in a few weeks time because you wouldn鈥檛 see the squirrels for the leaves. One is stripping bark off the trees; collecting shredded bark. Go on, get hold of it properly. He could be repairing the winter drey or more likely converting it, because the spring drey is actually much lighter and airier than the winter drey.
