Don’t Get Scammed Online
Online fraud and email scams are increasingly common. What can you do to avoid becoming a cyber-crime victim? Working Lunch presenter, Gillian Lacey-Soloman, explains ‘Phishing’ and ‘Malware, both are cons to get internet users to disclose personal banking details. IT expert, Tom Ilube (from Garlik), uncovers other popular scams, including fake emails from the Inland Revenue promising a tax rebate in return for identification information, and profiles on social networking sites requesting large amounts of personal data. Good anti-virus software is recommended, plus reporting any fraudulent activity as soon as possible. The studio presenters are Declan Curry and Naga Munchetty.
